Outline of Annual Research Achievements

平成28年度には、①報告者による前年度の研究に基づき、ジュバ・アラビア語（アラビア語クレオール）に関する研究を取りまとめた上で補足的調査を行い、②19世紀までのアラビア語ピジン・クレオールの発生・発展に関する調査を行った上で研究発表を行った。
まず、ジュバ・アラビア語については、第一に、東京外国語大学アジア・アフリカ言語文化研究所・共同研究プロジェクト研究会にて、同言語における声調の振る舞いを音韻類型論的視座から再検討した口頭発表を行った。第二に、日本アフリカ学会関西支部2016年度第8回例会にて、2000年代以後の南スーダンにおける同言語によるポピュラー音楽の興盛とその歴史的背景について口頭発表を行った。第三に、同言語を共時的・通時的側面を総合的に記述した博士論文を完成させた。この上で、オーストラリア・シドニー近郊にて同言語に関する補足的調査を行った。
次に、19世紀以前のアラビア語ピジン・クレオールの発生・発展については、第一に、オーストリア国立図書館（オーストリア・ウィーン市）にて文献調査を行い、1850年頃の南スーダンにおける最古のアラビア語クレオールの文証を発見した。第二に、ハンブルク州立文書館（ドイツ・ハンブルク市）にて文献調査を行い、19世紀末南スーダン／ウガンダの公的書簡における非標準的アラビア語使用の文証を発見した。これらに日本国内での文献調査を加えた上で、第三に、ドイツ・ギーセン市にて開催された第11回クレオール研究会にて16～19世紀地中海におけるアラビア語ピジンの存在と、その19世紀南スーダンにおけるアラビア語ピジン／クレオールの発生との因果関係に関する研究発表を行った。
さらに、20世紀前半の東アフリカ諸国におけるアラビア語クレオール話者集団間の社会・文化的な交流や紐帯に関する英語論文を執筆し、国外で出版予定の論文集に投稿し、現在査読中である。
