Outline of Annual Research Achievements

結び目理論において「橋」のアイデアは極めて基本的であり、橋位置と橋球面の概念がそれぞれ異なる観点で定義される。観点は違えど等価な概念かのように思われがちであったが、実は本質的な違いが現れることが、張娟姫氏と小林毅氏と小沢誠氏と私の昨年度の共同研究において観察された。そこで今年度は、この違いについて重点的に共同研究を推進し、以下のような結果を得た。
（１）任意の結び目に対して、その橋球面の同値類集合から、その結び目型の橋位置の同値類集合への自然な全射が存在することを証明した。
（２）その全射が単射にならない結び目の例が存在することを証明した。
これによって、与えられた二者が同値であることの証明は橋球面の場合の方が難しく、同値でないことの証明は橋位置の場合の方が難しいと言える。どちらの概念に対しても分類問題はそれぞれ基本的かつ重要であるが、それらを混同してはならないことをこの結果は指摘しており、従来の知見に対する再検証や再構築をも要求する。これは、本研究の当初の想定を超えた有意義な発見であり、今後の様々な研究の展開が喚起される。またその他にも私は、可微分写像の特異点について研究し、境界付きの３次元空間から２次元空間への安定特異点のダブルに関する結果を得た。
