Outline of Annual Research Achievements

平成28年度は、過年度までに予定していたすべてのデータが得られていたため野外調査の実施規模を大幅に縮小した。過年度までに論文として出版された成果（勇払原野に生息するアンブレラ種であるチュウヒとその他鳥類の繁殖成功度は正に関係する）を受け、4年間にわたって得た多数の湿地パッチのチュウヒの定着とつがいあたりの繁殖成功度（巣立ち雛数）に影響する要因を解析した論文を執筆し、The Journal of Wildlife Management誌に受理された。具体的には、チュウヒのつがいの定着には湿地周囲500mの生息地面積が広いことが重要であるが、巣立ち雛数には湿地周囲2000mの人工構造物が少ないことが重要であることを示した。さらに、アンブレラ種を保全する際にどの程度の経済効果が生まれるのか、またそれは他の保全ターゲット（生態系サービス、湿地面積）による経済効果よりも高いのかを比較した論文を執筆し、現在国際誌で査読中である。また、6～9月には海外研修を行った。研修中では研究に関する意見交換や論文執筆にあたり有意義だった。これらにより、予定していた研究のすべてがアウトプットの段階まで到達したと考えている。さらに、採用期間の最終年度であることから、年間を通して研究成果のアウトリーチ活動を精力的に行った。具体的には、国際学会1件（NAOC）、国内学会3件（日本鳥学会2件、日本生態学会）、商業誌での解説2件（バーダー誌、モーリー）を行った。
