Outline of Annual Research Achievements

1.トポロジカル絶縁体表面での近接磁気抵抗効果
強磁性絶縁体/トポロジカル絶縁体(TI)二層膜における電気伝導を近接磁気効果に基づいてモデル化した。モデルとして、TI 表面を記述する二次元Dirac ハミルトニアンに近接磁気効果による交換ポテンシャルを加えたものを用いた。これにより、TI 表面における特殊なバンド構造に起因して巨大な磁気抵抗効果が発現しうることを明らかにした。TIの表面状態では、スピンと運動量の向きが互いに直交するように結合している(スピン運動量ロッキング)。したがって、TI 表面に電場を印加することでスピン運動量ロッキングによりスピン蓄積が誘起される(Rashba-Edelstein 効果)。そこで、TI 表面のスピン蓄積と強磁性絶縁体の磁化との交換相互作用を介すことで、磁化により電気抵抗を制御することができる。計算手法として、ボルツマンの輸送理論により非磁性不純物と磁性不純物の両方に対して電気伝導度を計算し、抵抗変化率を評価した。本原理を応用することで二層膜という単純な構造で磁気メモリができる。

2.交流電界による反強磁性絶縁体の磁気共鳴
交流電界による反強磁性絶縁体の磁気共鳴を理論的に研究した。反強磁性絶縁体としては、鉄原子をドープしたビスマスカルコゲナイド(トポロジカル絶縁体)で報告される反強磁性相等を想定している。素子構造は、そのような反強磁性絶縁体を挟んだコンデンサーから成る。この素子に交流電界を印加することで、それが副格子磁化に対して有効磁場として振舞い磁気共鳴が誘起される。この有効磁場を定式化し、誘起される磁気共鳴をモデル化した。この原理は、磁場による電流の生成を引き起こすカイラル磁気効果の逆現象として理解できる。本原理を応用することで電界により反強磁性体の磁気情報を制御することができる。
