Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本年度の研究目標は、①フェムト秒過渡SERS分光測定を用いたホットエレクトロン誘起光化学反応の検証、②人工光合成等の既存光触媒反応の再現実験、の2つであったが、前年度の目標①単一銀ナノ粒子2量体上で引き起こされる光化学反応のプラズモン・表面増強ラマン散乱(SERS)分光分析、にて期待以上の進展が得られつつあることから、本年度は前年度の目標①単一銀ナノ粒子2量体上で引き起こされる光化学反応のプラズモン・SERS分光分析に注力する形で以下の2つの研究を実施した。
a. 金属ナノ粒子上で引き起こされる光化学反応をSERS分光分析する上で必須な、SERSの発生メカニズムの考察およびプラズモニック光化学反応のモニタリングを行う上でのSERS適用方向性を示すための総説執筆
b. 単一銀ナノ粒子上で引き起こされる4-アミノベンゼンチオール(4-ABT)分子の光化学反応のSERS分光分析および4-ABT単分子のSERS測定
a. 金属ナノ粒子上で引き起こされる光化学反応はプラズモニック化学とも呼ばれ、この1-2年で急速に国内外で注目を集め始めている。本光化学反応をモニターするにはSERSが非常に有用だが、一方でSERSの発生メカニズムについて未だ理解が広がっておらずSERSスペクトルの解釈を難しくしている問題がある。そこで山本は、この二つの問題を解決するために総説を執筆(国際誌1報、和文1報)した。
b. 4-ABT分子は、金属ナノ粒子上で可視レーザーを照射するとすみやかに化学反応を起こして二量体化することが既に明らかとなっている。一方、分子が一つしかない場合どのような挙動を示すかは明らかでなかった。そこで山本は、銀ナノ粒子凝集体を用いて4-ABT分子の単分子SERS測定を行い、4-ABT単分子のSERSスペクトルを世界で初めてとらえた。
