Research Abstract

次世代ダブルハイパー核探索実験を新設されるJ-PARCへ提案した。実験課題採択委員会(PAC)でfull approvalされ、J-PARC当初の実験として実行できる見込みがついた。この実験の鍵となる高位置分解能(15ミクロン)の両面読み出しSSDとエマルションのハイブリッドシステムを、RCNPの陽子ビームを用いてテスト実験を行った。その結果約50ミクロンの精度でエマルションにあるべき飛跡を見つけられることがわかった。この結果は実験を行ううえで十分な性能であり、論文にまとめている。さらにK中間子と陽子とをトリガー段階で区別するためのindex 1.1のエアロジェル検出器のビームテストをドイツのGSIで行い、満足すべき結果を得た。
一方過去に得たエマルションデータを再解析する作業を岐阜大学、東邦大学で進めた。その結果再解析によってあらたにダブルハイパー核の候補を発見した。京都大学では、カウンターと組み合わせるハイブリッド法によらない、general scanを新しく製作した高速自動解析装置で行い、ダブルハイパー核を探索している。このためにneural networkを用いる方法と形の複雑さによるパターン分析による方法を開発し、実際のダブルハイパー核を認識できることを確かめた。その結果は国際会議などで報告した。またMAPCOREというプログラムをたちあげた。これはダブルハイパー核をふくむエマルションの画像データをWeb上で公開して高校生をふくむ一般のひとびとに新しいダブルハイパー核を発見してもらおうという試みである。アウトリーチ活動と位置づけている。
