Research Abstract

新規ナノ分子の薄膜デバイス化を検討し,特に有機薄膜トランジスタの材料開発とデバイス作製・評価を中心に研究を行った.その結果,主に以下の成果を得ることが出来た.
1.長鎖オリゴチオフェンの有機FET:従来から開発してきた単分散巨大分子である一連の鎖長を持つオリゴチオフェンを半導体層にもつ薄膜トランジスタを作製し,その特性を評価した.その結果,20量体以上の鎖長のもので良好なトランジスタ特性を示し,電界効果移動度は鎖長の伸長に伴い向上することが明らかとなった.また,薄膜中での分子の配向を調査するためXRDを測定したところ,ポリチオフェン薄膜に見られるようなラメラ構造が確認できた.
2.含ヘテロ縮合多環芳香族を用いた有機FET:チオフェンンを縮合芳香族中に組み込んだ新規化合物であるジフェニルベンゾチエノベンゾチオフェン(DPh-BTBT)とアルキルベンゾチエノベンゾチオフェン(R_2-BTBT)を開発し,それらを活性層に用いた有機FETを作製・評価した.これらの材料はポリアセン系材料とは大きく異なり,大気中でも極めて安定であった.さらに,この安定性のため,作製したトランジスタも大気中でも安定に駆動でき,また,電界効果移動度は最高で2.0cm^2/Vsに達することが明らかとなった.この移動度は,現在,世界最高レベルであるだけでなく,大気に対しても安定であることから有機FETの実用化に資する材料として注目される.
3.拡張含ヘテロ縮合多環芳香族の開発:上記の結果をうけ,さらにπ電子系を拡張したπ電子系であるジナフトチエノチオフェン(DNTT)を開発した.この化合物も期待通り,有機FETにおいて優れた半導体材料として作用し,その電界効果移動度は最高で3.0cm^2/Vsに達した.
