Research Abstract |
We have examined the crystal structures and magnetic properties of heterocyclic thiazyl radicals which possessed chemical stabilities, 3D network structures in the solid states, and strong exchange interactions. We found various functional properties, such as a photo-induced phase transition at room temperature in TTTA, high-Tc ferromagnetic ordering in a BBDTA salt, charge-transfer phase transition in a BDYTA salt, and a non-linear electrical transport in a NT salt. Besides, we revealed magneto-structural correlation in Mn12 with a characteristic Jahn-Teller distortion, and developed chemical syntheses of spherical hollow magnets of various metals and metal oxides with a diameter of 500 nm.
