Research Abstract

原子炉圧力容器(RPV)鋼の照射脆化の主原因とされている1nm程度の大きさのCu(富裕)析出物(CRP)についてはその原子レベルでの機構解明は未だ不十分である。本研究では、最近我々が発見したFeマトリクス中のCuナノ析出物の陽電子量子ドット現象を利用するとともに最新の3次元アトムプローブも併用し、照射下での(サブ)ナノCRPの形成と発展を明らかにすることを目的とする。
本年度は先ず、購入した半導体検出器などを利用し、デジタル・オッシロスコープを用いた新方式の陽電子寿命・運動量相関(AMOC)装置を完成させた。この装置を用い、FeCuモデル合金中に生ずるCuナノ析出物は熱時効析出の初期から既に純Cu銅であることなどを明らかにした。次いで陽電子消滅特性の精密計算に必要な計算方式(電子間の多体効果に由来する自己エネルギーを考慮したGW方式)の開発を行った。
RPV鋼の照射脆化を調べるには、発電炉の実機監視試験片を解析することが欠かせない。しかしながら、実機監視試験片のナノ材料学的な解析が行われたことは殆どないのが現状である。我々はこの点を解決すべく、以下の2種の監視試験片を入手し解析を行った。先ず日本原子力発電の東海1号炉(約20年間稼働後1998年廃炉)の監視試験片では、(i)いわゆる照射欠陥は殆ど認められず、Cuナノ析出物のみが形成していること、(ii)しかしながら、同じ試験片を材料試験炉で約10000倍早い照射速度で照射したところ、逆にCuナノ析出物は認められず、照射欠陥のみが生じていること、などを明らかにした。次にベルギーのDoel2号炉監視試験片(溶接部)を入手し、低Cu材と高Cu材では、Cuナノ析出物と照射欠陥の形成・発展挙動が大きく異なることを見いだした。これら実機試験片に関する結果は、この分野で非常に重要な新知見である。
