Research Abstract |
1.Objectives Purpose of this study is to develop holographic 3D display system for volume data using a computer-generated hologram technique and to evaluate the 3D images. 2.Results of research (1)We succeeded in displaying a three-dimensional image by a hologram of volume data and were able to realize a large-sized hologram in comparison with before. New knowledge was provided through this development technically. In addition, I clarified the effectiveness of the method by the large-size holograms that are able to see by naked eyes. However, on the other hand, the problems such as quantization and calculation algorithm, which we must study in future, became clear newly. The results of research were able to become a touchstone for practical use. (2)We have developed a total 3D displaying system for medical images : (i)volume data are scanned at Tokyo Metropolitan Univ., (ii)transmitted to Hokkaido Univ. though the internet, (iii)calculated for hologram data, (iv)transmitted to Kanasai Univ., and (v)printed on photo plates. (3)In addition, in the field of each study, we were able to achieve the following results : (i)New rendering algorithms for computer-generated hologram that are useful for realistic imaging, (ii)New segmentation methods for organs and image processing methods, (iii)A new fringe printer that is large size and high resolution, (iv)New 3D image compression metods.
