Research Abstract

The purpose of this research was clarifying the optimum study grade of each basic concept by comparing with the overseas basic concept based on the basic concept in science, arithmetic and mathematics of Japan. Therefore, we classify the basic concepts in the science, arithmetic and mathematics of the elementary and the lower secondary education of our country, from the historical viewpoint. Specifically, the following things were performed.
(1) The basic concept in science, arithmetic and mathematics which are elementary and the lower secondary education of our country was extracted, and the grade by which the basic concept is learned was identified. Therefore, while identifying in which grade that basic concept would be learned in general by extracting a basic concept in Japan from the course of study of the elementary and the lower secondary education of our country after World War II, the feature of the grade which learns that basic concept in Japan was surveyed from the historical viewpoint.
(2) It compared with typical curriculums, such as United States of America, United Kingdom, German, Singapore used now ; using the study grade by which the basic concept of the science, arithmetic and the mathematics of the elementary and the lower secondary education of our country extracted for the preceding clause. And while deriving the grade considered to be the optimum for study of the basic concept, the feature was surveyed from the comparison educational standpoint.
As a result of researching using an above-mentioned method, in science, 86% of the optimum study grade has been derived among the extracted basic concepts. And, in arithmetic and mathematics, 88% of the optimum study grade has been derived.
