Research Abstract |
The dimensionless parameters dominant in the flow and diffusion field in the Kathmandu Valley were derived from the numerical simulation. The water tank experiment in the Kathmandu valley using the dimensionless parameters was conducted. The experimental results generally agreed with the numerical simulations. The continuation measurements of NOx concentration, TSP concentration, and oxidant concentration were carried out at the roof in Tribhuwan University. VOC compounds at 10 places in the Kathnamdu valley were also measured. The amount of VOC emissions was presumed from these analysis results. The amounts of NOx emissions and of TSP emissions were presumed from reference data in consideration of the increase of traffic volume. Using these emission data, atmospheric pollutant concentrations were calculated by one box model with two layers, and agreed with the measurement concentrations.
