Research Abstract

How to arouse learning motivation of pupils has been a basic and critical theme in a long-term school education. From the perspective of this educational background, the present study was try to develop a support system of arousal of learning motivation in physical education class.
The participants were 4th and 5th grade boys and girls in the two practical studies. They received support from PE teachers or their friends to arouse the learning motivation in physical education class. As the results, these practical studies were effective to arouse the learning motivation of pupils. Two interviews were also administered to the expert teachers with a wealth of knowledge and high instructional ability concerning the learning motivation in physical education class. It was some useful advice to devise teaching materials, to use group learning for good interpersonal relations, and to apply a principle of "small steps" to high anxiety pupils, etc.
In view of the present study, it seemed that a support system of arousal of learning motivation in physical education class was effective but not perfect. Further practical studies for the next step are necessary to arouse learning motivation in physical education class.
