Research Abstract |
In this research, Multi-Regional Input/Output (MRIO) tables are estimated in China, South Korea and Japan. And then Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) models are developed for Transport Infrastructure planning in East Asia countries. 1) Estimation of MRIO tables First of all, an entropy optimization method for the estimation of MRIO table is proposed. The estimation accuracy is checked in the MRIO table in Hokkaido. After that, the Chinese MRIO table in 1997 is estimated by using this entropy optimization method. And the MRIO analysis cleared Chinese regional economic structure in 1997. 2) Extended estimation of MRIO tables Secondly, an updating method of MRIO tables utilizing entropy optimization is proposed. The estimation accuracy is checked in MRIO tables in Japan. Then, the South Korean MRIO table in 1985 is estimated by using this entropy method, and the MRIO analysis clears regional structural changes in South Korea form 1985 to 1995. In addition to this, the Asian MRIO table in 2000 is estimated by using this entropy method, and the analysis clears the economic structural changes in Asia form 1985 to 2000. 3) Development of CGE models for transport infrastructure planning Finally, multi-regional CGE models are proposed for transport infrastructure planning in Asian countries. The first CGE model is developed for motorway network planning in Japan. The second CGE model is developed for the railway network planning in China. By using theses models, it is possible to evaluate the transport network projects in Japan and China.
