Research Abstract |
In the salmon farming in the world, we can find the rapid progress of agribusiness. Some farming companies have big share of world supply and they got strong power in world market of salmon. We can admit the situation "oligopoly". But supply amount has become too much. The price has started to decrease now. Then some companies can not keep their administration. The agribusiness of salmon farming has facing to a new situation and big companies will have stronger power in the near future. In the bottom fish fisheries in Alaska, we can also see the agribusiness in the fisheries. Especially in "SURIMI" and "KANIKAMABOKO" industry, big companies have big factory ships or big processing factories in land and suply fuge amount of "SURIMI" to the world market. We can find the vertical integration and "oligopoly" here. In China, we can also find many companies which are admitted as agribusiness companies in fisheries. For example, in the eel farming we can find many such companies. They have many farming ponds, big processing plants and exporting facilities. Such companies can use much fund invested from other industries and enjoy cheep labour cost. Then, they can have strong power in Japanese eel market. About processing of Alaskan Polack filet, China is the biggest producer. Big processing companies purchased the law fish from USA and sell the products to EU. This industry is also a kind of agribusiness in fisheries. In the world fish market, we can find many companies that have strong characters as agribusiness, and such companies play quite important roles in the world market of fisheries products. Some Japanese companies are also recognized as agribusiness companies. Such companies will get more important place in the market and in many fisheries products we will see "oligopoly" in the future.
