Research Abstract |
The purpose of this study was to detect genetic factor of preeclampsia and to construct of a new preventive strategy. The genes associated with preeclampsia were researched using the analysis of gene polymorphism and proteome analysis. And, interaction between the environmental factor or life habit of the patients of preeclampsia and their genetic factor was analyzed. As a result of this study, new associated gene with preeclampsia was not found out by the analysis of gene polymorphism. Clusterin associated with preeclampsia could be first detected by the proteomic technique. (Proteomics. 2004) Also, new finding of association between third nerve palsy and serous retinal detachment in preeclampsia was obtained. (Hypertension in Pregnancy, 2006) However, the new association between the environmental factor or life habit of the patients and the preeclampsia related gene polymorphisms detected by our group (Journal of Medical Genetics,1997;Journal of Human Genetics,2000;Thrombosis and Haemostasis,2001;Journal of Human Genetics,2002) was not found in this study of a small sample size.
