Research Abstract

本研究では、まず第1にフェムト秒超短パルスレーザを励起光源とした高(エネルギー、時間、角度)分解能時間分解・角度分解2光子光電子分光装置を開発することを目的とした。そして分子線エピタキシー(MBE)法により作製した金属人工格子の最小構成単位である遷移金属基板上の貴金属ナノ薄膜についての角度分解2光子光電子分光測定より、フェルミレベル直上に発現する非占有量子化電子構造の詳細について明らかにし、これらの非占有量子化電子準位を中間励起状態にした時間分解・角度分解2光子光電子分光により、量子状態(エネルギーE、運動量k)分解した金属ナノ薄膜構造における励起電子ダイナミクスを明らかにすることを第2の目的とした。本年度は昨年度までにほぼ構築した高分解能時間分解・角度分解光電子分光装置の改良、調整を引き続き行い、それらの装置を用いて、当初の計画通りMBE法により系統的に作製した遷移金属基板上の貴金属ナノ薄膜について、それらの非占有量子化電子構造及び励起電子ダイナミクスの直接観測を現在行っている。また通常の実験室光源を用いた角度分解光電子分光により、上記と同様の貴金属ナノ薄膜に発現するフェルミ準位近傍の占有量子化電子構造の詳細(量子化準位のエネルギー固有値及びそれらの膜厚依存性、基板電子構造との混成効果)について明らかにした。これらの実験結果は現在考察を行っている励起電子ダイナミクス、とりわけ電子-電子散乱過程を議論する上でリファレンスとなる。
