Research Abstract

本研究はアプリケーション構築の観点から、インフラである計算環境の整備と計算環境構築技術の創生という観点から実施された。アプリケーションとしては、本研究取り組み担当者が本研究申請書提出時点までに従事していた、高次脳機能の解明を目標とする脳磁図データ解析システムを引き続き採用し、その構築・利用時の課題から新しいGrid P2P技術の研究開発を行うことを目的とするものであった。
本研究の成果としては、次の2点に集約される。(1)次世代グリッド環境OGSAに準拠した脳機能解析研究環境の構築、(2)GridP2P環境におけるGSI(Grid Security Infrastructure)認証モジュールの設計と実装。前者では、本研究申請書提出時点までに構築中であった脳磁図データ解析システムを、いち早く最新グリッドアーキテクチャであるOGSA(Open Grid Services Architecture)に基づき再構築を実施したものである。最新グリッドアーキテクチャOGSAでは、本研究のコンセプトである、従来型グリッドの中央集約性と、P2Pにおける拡張性に富む分散管理性の融合を視野にいれたものであり、このアーキテクチャに基づいたアプリケーション構築は、より実践的な観点から次世代計算環境に要求される情報技術の抽出を可能にする点で有意義である。また、後者は、実際科学の問題を扱うシステム構築により必要とされる情報技術を実現した点で評価が高い。具体的には、本研究開発により実装した認証モジュールは、次世代計算環境における基礎となる認証基盤の一形態を示すものであると本研究開発取り組み担当者は考えている。これらの成果は、次世代計算環境を構築するうえで有意義な成果であると、取り組み担当者は考えている。
