Research Abstract

2軸圧延と1軸圧延を組み合わせた矩形変形法により、超電導フィラメントが線材横断面内において列状にブロック化された構造を有する銀シース多芯テープ線材を作製し、交流通電特性の測定・評価を行った。矩形変形方を用いる最大の利点は、線材形状およびフィラメント配置の制御性が通常の丸ダイスを用いた加工法に比較して格段に優れていることである。測定の結果、フィラメント配置の制御を施した多芯テープ線材では、通常の銀シース加工法で作製した線材と比較して最大70%程度の通電損失低減が可能であることが示唆された。実際の線材形状を考慮して、各試料の電流分布および通電損失密度分布の数値計算を行った結果、前述のフィラメント配置制御による損失低減は、テープ端部近傍のフィラメントで発生する損失の抑制(エッジ効果の抑制)に起因することが判明した。
矩形変形法において、2軸圧延による細線化後の芯線の形状および寸法は、線材の通電特性を左右する要因の一つであると考えられる。そこで、2軸圧延後の角線の形状(断面アスペクト比:AR)が、最終的な線材の交流通電特性におよぼす影響を検討した。線材断面内のフィラメント配置を(5×4)構造としたコンポジットを、2軸圧延によりARが1.0〜4.0となるように加工し、1軸圧延と熱処理の反復工程を経て複数のテープ線材を得た。角線時のARの増加と共に、テープ断面端部近傍のフィラメント形状の乱れやフィラメント同士の物理的な結合(ブリッジング)は抑制され、臨界電流密度(J_c)は上昇する傾向が見られた。更に、通電損失は角線時のARの増加と伴い減少した。この結果は、角線時のARの増加と共に、テープ断面端部近傍のフィラメントの超電導特性が改善され、線材断面幅方向における自己磁界の侵入およびテープ断面近傍での損失発生が抑制されたことに起因すると推測される。
