Outline of Annual Research Achievements

太陽エネルギー変換材料として、水を分解し、かつ活性で安定な光触媒が求められている。特に層状窒化炭素 g(graphitic)-C3N4 は、バンドギャップが約2.7eVの間接遷移型半導体であり、波長450nm以下の光を吸収することができることから、光触媒への応用が期待されている材料である。しかし、光生成電子正孔対の高い再結合速度による低い光触媒活性が課題である。
最終年度である本研究では、顕微解析のみならず、計算機シミュレーションも行使し、グラg-C3N4ナノシートのリン(P)ドーピングに関するシミュレーションを行った。g-C3N4は、貴金属を含まない水分補給剤として機能するので、大変ユニークな材料である。最近の実験では、g-C3N4中のP-ドーピングがシートの導電性を増加させることが示されている。さらに、Pをドーピングすると、Pはg-C3N4格子のCを置換することも判明している。このような現象の起源を解明するため、g-C3N4シートのPードーピングに関する詳細なシミュレーションを第一原理計算により実施した。
形成エネルギーは、炭素サイト上のドーピングの方が窒素サイトよりも低く、Pドーピングの際に、新しい電子状態がフェルミレベルで現れ、導電率が増加することが判明した。
