Outline of Annual Research Achievements

高容量水素貯蔵材料の開発は次世代エネルギーシステムに対して重要な役割を果たすものと考えられる。ボロハイドライドは水素貯蔵量が多いものの、水素吸蔵・放出速度や熱力学的特性の改良が必要である。そこで、複合化や添加剤による特性改良を検討した。
LiNH2-Mg(BH4)2システムを遊星ボールミルにより作製した。LiNH2-Mg(BH4)2システムにおいて、Mg(BH4)2はLiNH2からのアンモニア放出を抑制した。NaBH4、KBH4、Mg(BH4)2に対して、Zr系化合物(ZrCl4)を添加し、その水素放出特性を評価した。また、走査電子顕微鏡、X線回折装置、赤外分光光度計、X線光電子分光分析装置、示差走査熱量測定装置等で分析を行った。ZrCl4を添加したNaBH4、KBH4、Mg(BH4)2の水素放出実験から求めた活性化エネルギーや水素放出開始温度は無添加のNaBH4、KBH4、Mg(BH4)2に比べ低下した。また、ZrCl4を添加したこれらのボロハイドライドの活性化エネルギーはZrCl4を添加したLiBH4-MgH2システム、LiBH4、MgH2に比べ上昇した(水素放出実験から求めた活性化エネルギー:LiBH4-MgH2<LiBH4<MgH2<Mg(BH4)2<KBH4<NaBH4、水素放出開始温度:LiBH4-MgH2<MgH2<Mg(BH4)2<LiBH4<KBH4、NaBH4)。ZrCl4を添加したLiBH4-MgH2システムの活性化エネルギーと水素放出開始温度は最も低い値を示した。Ca(BH4)2-MgH2システムを遊星ボールミルにより作製した。このシステムの最適割合はCa(BH4)/MgH2=1/2であった。Ca(BH4)2は325~500℃において、2ステップで分解した。一方、Ca(BH4)2-MgH2システムはCa(BH4)2に比べ低温下、1ステップで分解した。
