Outline of Annual Research Achievements

自閉症スペクトラムとは、自閉症や特定不能の広汎性発達障害などの各疾患を広汎性発達障害の連続体の1要素として捉えた総称である。自閉症だけでも現在国内に推定36万人、知的障害や言語障害を伴わない高機能自閉症など含めると120万人とされる。本研究は、脳発達における神経ガイダンスと自閉症スペクトラムの病態解明を目指してきた。マウスMRI撮像及び脳透明化処理後の免疫染色と3次元構築像の二つのデータを比較検討し、神経軸索密度、樹状突起構造の定性、定量に一定の効果をあげ、成果を発表した(Magn Reson Med Sci. 2016 , Acta Radiologica Open 2017)。本研究は、Kerever博士のイメージング技術の精密性、独創性を活かし、自閉症スペクトラム等発達障害の早期発見サロゲートマーカー探索・同定を切り口とした疾患解明研究である。さらに、拡散テンソルMRIの第一人者である順天堂大学青木茂樹教授との共同研究により、神経細胞を繋ぐ連携の画像化に着目し、早期診断を目指している。本研究による成果は、脳の可塑性が高い発達期における自閉症の早期診断を可能とし、介入の有効性を高めることに活かされる。これらの目的が達成されることにより、自閉症における細胞マトリックスの関与が明確にされることになる。
