Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究ではマングローブ植物におけるシグナリング分子としての一酸化窒素(NO)を新たな標的として、マングローブの塩耐性機構を統合的に解明することを目的とする。平成29年度は28年度に引き続きNO供与体(SNPとアルギニン)及びNO除去剤(ヘモグロビン)と合成阻害剤(NAME)を用いて、ヤエヤマヒルギの耐塩性に及ぼすNOの影響を評価した。さらに、今年度は硫化水素(H2S)及びH2S除去剤としてハイポタウリンの影響についても併せて検討した。
ヤエヤマヒルギを4%塩濃度で処理するとNa濃度が増加する一方K濃度は減少し、これに伴いK+/Na+比も低下した。加えて塩ストレスはカルシウム及びマグネシウム濃度も低下させた。塩負荷は根の成長並びにクロロフィル含量を低下させ、光合成を阻害した。同様に、塩ストレスは蒸散速度と水利用効率を減少させた。NO供与体はこれらの阻害を顕著に改善することはなかったが、NO合成阻害剤はNO供与体の効果を相殺する作用があった。H2Sは塩の毒性を著しく軽減した。またNO合成阻害剤及びH2S除去剤はヤエヤマヒルギの耐塩性を著しく低下させた。このことはNO及びH2Sがマングローブの耐塩性に寄与していることを示していると判断した。本年度は最終年度であるため、これらの成果をまとめて2件の国際学会において発表した。
