| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
A Purpose of this research theme is to construct a study team of Personal Protective Equipment and to proceed interdisciplinary research. We divided four protective fields such as Mechanical hazard protection, Thermal/Fire hazard protection, Biological hazard protection, and Chemical hazard protection. We tried to make new evaluation methods for protective materials in order to develop new fiber/textile materials. And we also analyzed clothing-human system from viewpoint of thermal comfort and movement characteristics.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
安全・安心のために個人防護服・防護装備（PPE）は重要性を増している．さまざまな現場で使われている防護服・防護素材について物理学等の学術的視点からその評価法を見直し，新たな評価法の開発・提案を行ったことに学術的意義があると考える．また研究分担者ら複数名がISOのWCに参画し活動するなど社会的な貢献も行った．特にこれまでは個別に行われてきていた複数の研究者による防護服研究を，本研究課題をベースに分野融合し，連携した研究を推進することができ，本研究分野の今後のさらなる発展が期待できる．
