| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This project carried by 18 university researchers and 20 collaboraters in and out of Japan provided through field research and interviews in Great East Japan Earthquake or Kumamoto Earthquake with the evidences to show that the local community-based practice and learning for disaster prevention may be critically important for disaster prevention and for that the autonomus activities by local people as in the community learnign center(Kominkan) may be indispensable. At the same time, in this project we could develop the educational program for disaster prevention in order to response to predicted future disasters like Tokyo Metropolitan Earthquake or Nankai Trough Earthquake.In addition, we could provide with the lessons learned in Japanese disasters and related research result in corporation with foreign countries like New Zealand and internationl academic communities.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
東日本大震災以降、全国各地で地震が発生し、首都直下型地震や南海トラフ地震などへの対策が全国の地方自治体で急務となっている。また、地球温暖化が原因と思われるゲリラ豪雨やスーパー台風の襲来などによる新しい災害も起きつつあり、地域における防災の取り組みが重視され、防災教育への期待も高まっている。本研究は、これに真正面から応える研究となっており、具体的な学習プログラムの開発や理論化も進めることができた。
