Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Although it has been reported that doping hetero atoms into photocatalyst crystalline lattice enhances the photocatalytic activity, it has been disclosed that those introduced hetero atoms could not be in the crystalline lattice but on the surface of photocatalyst particles. In this study, "true doping" in titania particles, i.e., substitution of titanium(IV) ions in the crystalline lattice with rhodium(IV), which is almost same or slightly small compared with titanium(IV), is developed and those doped titania samples are characterized in their structure and photocatalytic activities under visible-light irradiation.
