Outline of Final Research Achievements

The aim of this research project is the development of integrated numerical analysis method for propagation of hidden faults and collapse of structures.
The targets of the numerical analysis are the important facilities in nuclear power plant. The analysis of the propagation process of the hidden faults under these facilities and the quantitative evaluation of the damage on theese facilities was performed.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究では、原子炉建屋などの最重要構造物の敷地近傍の地中深くに隠れている伏在断層が構造物の安全性に及ぼす影響を定量的に評価するために、伏在断層が地震時に地表に到達する過程と、これに伴う構造物の損傷・崩壊過程を統合的に解析する手法の開発を行った。
伏在断層の動きと断層近傍の地表面変位との非自明な関係を正しく表現・予測する動的破壊進展解析手法を完成させたことに、学術的意義がある。
また、地表面に現れていない断層に対する最重要構造物の安全性を定量的に評価する手法の開発は、地震に対する社会の安全・安心の向上に貢献するという社会的意義がある。
