Outline of Final Research Achievements

The following was done through this study. 1) To grasp trend of lesson studies, 2) to organize abilities necessary for consumers to realize “responsible living” and analyze 32 cases of Japanese lessons, 3) to conduct surveys of home economics professionals in 14 countries and analyze the characteristics of academic abilities and learning contents, 4) to organize a multi-layered and versatile embodiment of lesson studies in Japanese home economics and grasped situations in other countries. Furthermore, 5) as a proposal of a lesson study model for fostering of a responsible consumer and an international examination, an international conference was held in August 2017 by inviting experts in home economics education from Ireland, Sweden, and Singapore. With the aim of fostering responsible consumers, we have disseminated papers on lesson studies for improving the teaching skills of teachers, a Japanese-English version of the international conference report, and a web site.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究によって,1)生活者育成を目的とする国際的なカリキュラムの最新情報を整理できた点,2)レッスン・スタディに着目し,教科・科目に共通するねらいやその達成度を具体的に検討できた点,3)各国共通の生活課題に対する授業力向上の方法論をもとにレッスン・スタディのモデルを精査できた点に学術的意義がある。
日本の比較教育研究は,諸外国の取り組みを吸収することに重きが置かれてきたが,本研究成果は,グローバルな視点に立ち,日本の良い部分を発信しつつ,他国からも学ぶ双方向性をもって,子どもの生きる力を伸ばすという生活者育成の教科(家庭科)の国際連携を図り,教科研究の国際化を促した点に社会的意義がある。
