Outline of Annual Research Achievements

研究プロジェクトの最終年度として、研究成果を論文等を通じて積極的に発信するとともに、その内容をレビュー論文にまとめた。一方で、トポロジカルナノフォトニクス構造などに関する研究を進めいくつかの成果が得られた。これらは本研究の今後のさらなる飛躍の土台になることが期待される。その他本年度に得られた成果については、以下に示す3つの研究領域に分けて概要を報告する。
1. 量子ドット・ナノ共振器形成基盤技術開発 :
自己形成量子ドットの分子線エピタキシーによる結晶成長技術について検討を深めた。近接三重層量子ドットやメタモルフィック構造を用いた長波発光量子ドットの高品質化に取り組むとともに、これらの結晶成長技術を基礎とした量子ドットレーザー素子の作製も進め、レーザー発振を観測するまでに至った。また、光学顕微鏡下による低ダメージ積層法により三次元フォトニック結晶構造を構築し、量子ドットと結合した共振器発光ピークを観測した。
2. 固体量子電気力学探究 :
結合共振器系で発現するトポロジカル境界状態を活用した高出力レーザーについて理論的な検討を深めた。利得・損失の空間配置を最適化した構造において、共振器周波数や結合レートにバラツキがある場合においても、ロバストな単一モード発振が可能であることを明らかにした。さらには、現実的な共振器損失や利得を想定した検討も進め、実験的に実現可能な素子設計を行った。また、トポロジカルスローライト導波路を用いたリング共振器構造について、その共振器モード特性を数値的に解析するとともに、InP系材料を用いて構造を試作し、レーザ発振を実現することにも成功した。
3. 極限量子ドット光源開発 :
トポロジカルな光導波路を用いた量子ドット単一光子源の詳細な評価を行った。大きなパーセル効果を発現可能であることを確認するとともに、発生単一光子の低損失な光伝搬を観測した。また、多数の異なる量子ドットを測定することで、バンド分散とパーセル効果の関係を実験的に明らかにし、高効率かつロバストな単一光子源を実現する素子構造について検討を深めた。加えて、界面ゆらぎInGaN量子ドットからの高純度単一光子発生についても検討を深め、その純度の励起強度依存性やスペクトル拡散時間の測定を行いさらなる高性能化の指針を得た。
