主観的な時間経験の変容に関わる脳内メカニズムの解明

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

主観的な時間の長さ(時間長)の変容に関わる神経基盤の解明を進めるため、前年度に取得したデータの解析を進めた。その結果、(1)右下頭頂小葉(rIPL)領域が、同一時間長の刺激の反復呈示によって応答の抑制(反復抑制)を示すこと、(2)反復抑制効果が大きい実験参加者ほど、同一時間長の繰り返し呈示による主観的時間長の変化(時間長残効)が大きいことがわかった。この結果は、rIPLが時間長残効による主観的時間長の変容と強く関連していることを示しており、rIPLの時間長選択的ニューロン群(Hayashi et al., 2015 PLoS Biology)と、主観的時間経験の変容との関連を世界で初めて示すものである。本研究成果は現在学術論文としてまとめているところであり、準備ができ次第速やかに学術誌へ論文投稿する予定である。
さらに、rIPLと主観的時間経験の因果関係の解明するため、経頭蓋磁気刺激(TMS)法により脳活動を干渉し、rIPLと主観的時間の因果関係を明らかにするための実験を行った。実験データの取得を完了し、行動データを解析した結果、rIPLの脳活動をTMSで干渉すると、(コントロール条件と比較して)時間長推定のパフォーマンスが低下することが明らかになった。rIPL領域を刺激した際に表情筋の一部を刺激していないかなど、課題パフォーマンスに影響しうる他の要因についても今後検討、解析を進め、rIPLと主観的時間経験との関係を明らかにし、まとまり次第学術誌へ論文投稿する予定である。
