Outline of Annual Research Achievements

We developed a novel excited state intramoecular proton transfer (ESIPT)-active compound DSBTBT. From the single crystal structure measurement, DSBTBT single crystal shows layer by layer herringbone stacking motif with slipped intralayer π-π overlap. We studied the optical properties of the DSBTBT compound.DSBTBT crystal shows the very weak emission in the diluted solution but enhanced emission in the solid state. On the other hand, DSBTBT single crystal shows the optical waveguide edge emission property. Upon the pulsed laser excitation, the amplified spontaneous emission is observed based on the DSBTBT single crystal as the gain media.
