Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I wrote a paper detailing the results of my experiments on Japanese relative clause processing. This paper was sent out to the Journal of Psycholinguistic Research but was rejected. The paper was then revised and sent to the Journal of Japanese Linguistics where it is under second review.
I began to investigate the processing of RC and non-RC embedded-clauses in Japanese as well as a theoretical investigation on the differences between prenominal and postnominal RC languages. Through the latter investigation, I discovered similarities in the processing of both post-nominal and prenominal clause languages concerning ambiguity and its influence on expectation. I formulated a theory about this, and I am currently writing a review paper about this.
