Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本年度は、昨年度に引き続き、半翅目昆虫の跳躍機能の進化史を明らかにするために、内部形態データの蓄積を進めた。本年度は昨年度までに得られなかったデータの補完を目的として、国内調査・チリ調査および2回目となるμCT撮影などを行い、研究遂行に必要なデータのほとんどを揃えることができた。これまでの一連の研究から、半翅目の胸部内では複数回の跳躍機構が進化したことが明らかとなり、半翅目では全昆虫でも稀な胸部内機能の反復進化が起こっていたことが示された。この成果は、昆虫の機能的多様化に関する新たな視点をもたらすものであると考えている。
また、この進化を生んだ要因に関する考察も進めており、特に重要視される翅連結構造について、近縁なチャタテムシ目・アザミウマ目を含めて進化史の解明を行った。その結果、各目で独立に獲得されているだけでなく、半翅目内でも複数回進化した可能性があることが示唆された。
本年度が最終年度に当たるため、これまでに得た知見は並行して順次論文化を進めており、本年度は上記成果の一部を国際誌に主著2本、共著1本の論文として発表することができた。それ以外にも、主著論文1本が投稿中となっており、現在査読後の対応を行っている。また、跳躍機能に関する理解を深めるため、類似した跳躍機能をもつ甲虫目昆虫に関する形態解析を行い、日本昆虫学会第77回大会でポスター発表を行う(最優秀ポスター賞を受賞)など、本研究課題で当初期待されていた以上の成果もあげることができた。
