Outline of Annual Research Achievements

今年度は引き続き、核融合科学研究所理論シミュレーションセンターとの共同研究を進めており、今年度より、イオンを対象としてエネルギー変換機構についての解析を行った。その結果、ガイド磁場リコネクションにおいて、セパラトリクス領域でイオンの分布関数がリング状となることが分かった。イオンの磁場に垂直方向の熱エネルギー(分布関数の2次モーメント)が増大しており、磁気リコネクションによる新しい加熱機構だと考えられる。また、セパラトリクス領域で発生している荷電分離についても、プラズマパラメータと荷電分離によって引き起こされるポテンシャルドロップの幅や深さについて、定量的な評価を行うことに成功した。
また、昨年度に引き続き、プリンストンプラズマ物理研究所(PPPL)にてガイド磁場リコネクションの共同実験を行った。MRX装置での実験では、電子に対象を絞り、X点での電子加熱のガイド磁場依存性を計測した。その結果、X点での電子加熱は、明らかにガイド磁場に依存しており、核融合化学研究所と進めている粒子シミュレーション結果と矛盾しないことが分かった。
最終年度にあたって、これまでの東京大学UTST装置におけるプラズマ合体時の電子加熱、MRX装置におけるガイド磁場リコネクション実験、核融合科学研究所におけるPICシミュレーションの結果をまとめ、電子加熱・加速それぞれを磁場に対して垂直方向、平行方向の4種類に分類し、ガイド磁場リコネクション時の電子へのエネルギー変換機構のモデルを作成することができた。
以上の成果を、核融合科学研究所のプラズマシンポジウム2017、アメリカ物理学会のプラズマ部門や、PLASMA CONFERENCE 2017などで学会発表を行なった。また、数値シミュレーションと実験室実験の両方をまとめた博士論文により、東京大学大学院新領域創成科学研究科の研究科長賞が授与されている。
