Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は,運動誘発性の脳神経活動および脳乳酸代謝の増加が認知機能を亢進させるという仮説を明らかにすることである.この仮説を明らかにすることで,本研究の終着点である,認知機能亢進のための運動・栄養処方の開発基盤を構築することが期待できる.本年度では,昨年度展開した現象論ベースの知見に加え,認知機能亢進のための運動・栄養補助プログラムをさらに検証した.加えて,運動誘発性認知機能亢進の作用機序解明に向けたアプローチを展開した.具体的には,以下に示すそれぞれの研究活動を展開した.
1. 局所的なレジスタンス運動(ニーエクステンションのみ)を行うだけで,認知機能が急性的に高まることを明らかにした.さらに,軽強度の運動を行った場合と比較して,乳酸がより多く産生されるような高強度の運動を行った場合,運動後に高まる認知機能への効用は,より強まることも明らかにした.2. 運動開始1時間前に,脳神経活動を活性化させる高濃度のココアフラバノールが含まれたココア飲料を摂取することで,低濃度のココアフラバノールが含まれたココア飲料を摂取した対照条件と比較して,運動によって高まる認知機能はさらに高まることを明らかにした.3. コペンハーゲン大学の循環・代謝の研究で世界的に著名な研究グループと共同で,脳での乳酸取り込みなどの脳内代謝動態を直接的に測定する方法(脳を跨ぐ動静脈血濃度較差)を用いて,乳酸産生量が低下した運動後の認知機能が低下する機序の一つとして,脳乳酸代謝の低下が関与している可能性を明らかにした.
4. 博士学位申請論文を執筆し,早期修了制度を利用して博士号(スポーツ健康科学,立命館大学)を取得した.
