Outline of Annual Research Achievements

平成29年度は、前年度までに実施した実験の解析を完了させた。この実験では理学療法士被験者群19名と一般被験者群19名を対象に、MRI装置の中で片麻痺患者の麻痺側の手と非麻痺側の手のグーパー動作の映像を観察してもらった。結果、理学療法士群は一般群に比べて、動作の理解に関与するとされるMirror Neuron System(MNS)や他者の意図の推測に関与するとされているTemporoparietal Junction(TPJ)が高い活動を示した。また、理学療法士群ではTPJとMNSの一部の機能的結合の程度が上昇していた。主観評価では理学療法士群の方が運動の理解、情動面の理解が正確になされていた。これらのことから、片麻痺の間接経験を既に有していることで、経験困難な動きの理解や情動面の理解が可能なことが示された。当初、29年度は上述の解析に並行して、その実験を発展させた大規模な実験を実施予定であったが、受け入れ研究者の急逝により、実験を中止せざるを得なくなった。そこで、本研究課題の達成をサポートする実験として、「実際経験が困難な動作を観察する視点が、その動きや情動面の理解への効果の検討」というテーマで実験を実施した。上述実験の設定で、提示する手の動作を上述の実験と同様に対面側から出ているように提示する条件(3人称視点条件)と、観察者側から出ているように提示する条件(1人称視点条件)で提示し、それぞれで観察時の脳活動を検討した。結果、1人称視点で観察している際にTPJがより高い活動を示した。このことから、例え経験困難な動作であっても、あたかも観察者側から出ているように見える1人称視点からその動きを観察することで、その情動面を推測しやすくなることが示唆された。また、本年度はここまでの実験に関連した研究論文がHuman Brain Mappingに掲載された。
