Outline of Annual Research Achievements

今年度は視野を広げ、様々な事柄について研究を行った。以下その詳細を記す。
近年の top quark および Higgs boson の質量の測定により、Higgs 場のポテンシャルが高エネルギー領域で不安定であることが示唆されている。初期宇宙は高エネルギーであるため、この不安定性は初期宇宙の物理に大きな影響を与える可能性がある。筆者は、Higgs とインフラトン及び重力との間に quartic coupling 及び non-minimal coupling が存在する場合での、インフレーション中及び後のダイナミクスを詳細に議論し、電弱真空の崩壊が起きる結合のパラメータ領域を特定した。また、インフレーションのエネルギースケールが低い場合にもインフラトン振動期には電弱真空が崩壊し得ることを数値計算を用いて実証した。
上記の通り、電弱真空の不安定性は初期宇宙を考えると非常に大きな問題となり得る。筆者は共同研究者とともに、インフラトンと Higgs 場との mixing により、Higgs 場のポテンシャルを高エネルギー領域まで安定化することが可能であることを示した。この場合インフラトンの質量は電弱スケール程度になり得るため、将来的に大型ハドロン衝突型加速器での観測が可能となる。
また昨年度筆者は共同研究者とともに、複素スカラー場一つを導入するだけで現在の素粒子標準模型の持つ様々な問題を一度に解決する模型を提唱したが、この模型を超対称性を持つように拡張した。この場合、一般に動径方向に対するポテンシャルが非常に平坦となる。平坦なポテンシャルは特に宇宙初期にスカラー場の振動を励起する可能性があるが、この研究ではその振動が宇宙論的に問題を起こさないようなパラメータ領域を特に詳細に議論した。
