Outline of Annual Research Achievements

NiDI was previously formed from nickel(II) ions and hexaaminobenzene ligand. Other types of metal ions, such as palladium(II) and platinum(II) ions, were also attempted to form PdDI and PtDI respectively. Experimenting with palladium(II) ions have shown that the interfacial synthesis reactions can be successfully used to form PdDI nanosheets.However, the same conditions replicated for the platinum analogue, gave insoluble [Pt(NH3)4][PtCl4] salt and was not too successful. Preliminary experiments showed memory effects of PdDI nanosheets which is an interesting finding these types of nanosheets.
