Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は、原子層材料における光デバイス応用に向けた電界発光の実現と新奇光機能の探索である。電界発光を実現するためには、発光層である酸化グラフェンに電子と正孔を注入し、それらを再結合させることが必要となる。そこで今年度は電界発光の前段階として、原子層にp-n接合を形成すること、及び、p-n接合における光検出を目指した。
電解質を用いた電気二重層トランジスタを作製し、原子層にキャリアを蓄積することでp-n接合を形成し、そこで光検出できることを示した。本成果は、酸化グラフェン中でもp-n接合を形成し電界発光へと応用するための足がかりとなる。また異なる原子層を重ねて原子層ヘテロ構造を作製することで、これまで報告されてきた層間の電荷移動だけでなく、エネルギー移動も起こり得ることを明らかにした。原子層間でのキャリアやエネルギー輸送の機構を明らかにすることで、デバイス構造の指針となり得る。
