| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this research is ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) in early childhood education in japan. Its primary purpose is to clarify,its social and educational significance and its educational effects. As a result, especially it became clear that childcare contents aimed at ESD were already included in childcare in japan so far. In addition, it was the verification of the Japanese-style ESD childcare and education model from the collected practice cases. As a result, it became clear that Japan's childcare is strongly influenced by the local culture and developing independently. However,its central structure and essence are common, and the validity of the model created at the beginning of the study was verified.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究を始める契機となったのが、日本を震撼させた3.11東日本大震災で目のあたりにした、地域の崩壊と人との繋がりの大切さであった。そして、日本の復興のために、教育による積極的な取り組みが必要と考え、乳幼児期からの持続可能な教育の推進を目指した。そして、本研究がスタートし、様々な地域における個性的で伝統的な文化を背景に子どもたちが育てられ、日本の保育そのものに、既にESDが内包されていることが確認され、日本の保育の質の高さを本研究で検証することができたことは有益であり意義あると考える。さらに、平成30年に告示された幼稚園教育要領等にも同じ意味の内容が多く取り上げられ保育現場への貢献も大きかった。
