Outline of Final Research Achievements

The following findings were obtained as a result of this research.
(1)In cooperation with the New Chemical Technology Promotion Association, a Chemical company, we developed a chemical experiment for third-year junior high school to first-year high school students. By developing an educational program in collaboration with a chemical company, a chemical educational program has been developed that organically links lectures, experiments, practical training, and laboratory tours so that students can scientifically understand colors.(2)In collaboration with the National Museum of History and Folklore, we have developed chemical experiments related to the history and art of color. (3)We have developed a video of teaching materials about the world’s best dyeing technology, a source of price for Japan, and uploaded it to YouTube to facilitate utilization in secondary chemistry education.(4)We developed an experiment on staining that incorporates aspects of Life Cycle Assessment.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

開発した化学教育プログラムは、大学、化学系企業、科学系博物館、歴史系博物館が連携して作成した。特に化学系企業との連携は大きな特色で、新化学技術推進協会(JACI)を介し、化学教育の視点で大学研究者が必要とする目的に合った企業と連携して化学教育プログラムを開発した。今後の化学系企業と連携して教育プログラムを開発する場合のモデルとなる可能性がある。また、開発した化学教育プログラムを活用した中高の現職理科教員対象の実験研修会を実施したことで、プログラムの評価が可能となった。
制作した映像教材は、現在、JACIのHPからも視聴できる。中等化学教育のみの活用にとどまらず、広く社会への普及が期待される。
