Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this research is to develop problem solving ability from requirement analysis ability to solution proposal, and we developed the Problem based Programming Learning support system (PPL) with educational content virtualization that generates exercise according to the purpose and intention of the learner. Furthermore, focusing on programming education in elementary school, we improved the PPL system and developed the Programmatic Thinking based Learning support system (PTL) that supports programming thinking type learning and evaluated the learning effect. From the questionnaire results, it is considered that PPL and PTL systems are effective for learning as systems that support improvement in problem solving ability and programming thinking ability.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

プログラミング教育の必要性は、情報系の学生のみではなく、小学校から情報系以外の幅広い大学生に拡大している。また、企業が期待する学生の能力は、プログラミング作成能力だけではなく、問題分析、問題解決などの汎用的スキルがある。このような社会的背景を考えると、プログラミング教育を通して、問題分析能力、問題解決能力、論理的思考能力などを伸ばす教育が必要である。本研究では、このようなプログラミング教育を支援するために、学習者の目的や趣向に合わせて演習問題を生成する機能を持つ学習支援システムを研究したものであり、今後のプログラミング教育を実施する上で、教育分野における学術的・社会的意義は大きいと考える。
