Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study is to promote research on the literary nobility and the Buddhist priests’ thought, in the regency period and the Insei period, by starting with SUGAWARA no Fumitoki(899-981) and Eikan (1033-1111), also the surrounding people and their works. SUGAWARA no Fumitoki was the grandson of SUGAWARA no Michizane, and the teacher of YOSHISHIGE no Yasutane, OE no Masahira, etc. Eikan was a monk of Todaiji Temple, who wrote Oujoujuin往生拾因, Oujoukoushiki往生講式, etc. Besides these, during this study, I keep annotating Shinshouzaifukuinnenshu心性罪福因縁集, which was known as the Tendai hongaku philosophy and was referred to by Eikan. I have published the results through lectures, papers and book. As the core event, in December 8th-9th, 2018, I held an international academic meeting entitled “the cultural exchange in East Asia- Wuyue, Korai and Heian culture”.
