Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research, I have investigated aspects of linguistic interface phenomena to develop the Minimalist Performative Hypothesis, which posits the functional projection Performative Phrase at the top of the main clause, within the framework of the Minimalist Program. Under the Minimalist Performative Hypothesis, I have proposed the mechanism to account for the double access phenomena in finite complement clauses, the feature system of modality of infinitival complement clauses, the mechanism to restrict interpretations of simple tense forms, and so on. In addition, I have presented a theoretical consequence of interpretation processes investigated in this research on the notion of transfer, which sends syntactic objects to the two interfaces of the semantic and phonetic components.
