| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We developed a web-based system to provide school education information to foreign students and their parents in their native language in Japan, a country considered lacking in conveying information effectively to non-natives. A web page titled "Information for Indonesian residents in Japan to go to high school” (http://www.gotohighblog.wordpress.com/) was created.
Interviews with high school graduates revealed the need for information on other educational areas including compulsory education and higher education such as university or college. Students have to appear for multiple entrance examinations for admission to a university in Japan. Providing specific information to students as per their individual needs is a challenge. To fulfill such requirements for educational information, we have started a new research project, JSPS 19H01272.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
私たちは在日外国人情報弱者の声に耳を傾け、適切な情報を提供することが彼らの日本でのキャリア形成につながると考えた。この考えは社会言語学者の徳川宗賢が提唱した「福祉言語学」に通底している。本研究課題の学術的意義として「福祉言語学」の理念に実態を与える実践研究のひとつとなったと考える。本研究の社会的意義は、外国にルーツを持つ子どもたちの自己実現をサポートするためには、子どもたちへの日本語指導だけでなく、キャリア形成のための情報を広く提供すること、さらに子どもたちだけでなく保護者にも情報を提供し、子どもと保護者との間の情報格差をなくすことが必要であることを指摘した点にあると考える。
