Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We have improved and revised the grammatical items usage database, HAGOROMO, which was released on the web for domestic and overseas use in order to support Japanese language teachers and over-intermediate-level Japanese learners with respect to five aspects. The purpose of the revision was to make it easier for learners to search for items in order to write sentences that are more useful for communication. The five aspects are thus outlined. First, scrutinizing topic words, which makes it easier to search by summarizing items that have been separated by inflection. Second, displaying information about grammar functions. Third, the hierarchy of semantic usages and study of the descriptions. Fourth, displaying information on the form before the topic words; providing information on grammatical form is useful for production. Fifth, displaying examples from learner composition corpus; it indicates correct sentences, error sentences, and the levels of learners.
