Outline of Final Research Achievements

This research investigated insurance firms' management strategies by mainly using microeconomic theory. This research derived the results about insurance firms' management strategies from following two aspects such as insurance system (Bonus-Malus System in automobile insurance and claim settlement in liability insurance) and nonrational consumers (consumers’ regret and rejoicing feelings and underestimation of accident probability).

本研究成果の学術的意義としては、主としてミクロ経済学を基礎としたモデル分析を展開したことによって研究成果の他分野への援用が容易となっており、得られた結論等が「保険論」の枠を超えたより広域的な領域の発展に寄与しうる点があげられる。本研究成果の社会的意義としては、保険会社が採用する経営戦略のあり方についての考察を通じて、劇的な環境変化の中にある保険会社に対して少なくない経営戦略面での示唆を提供した点があげられる。
