As a social work / a community welfare research, I conducted a research on livelihood support for foreign residents living in Japan. I defined a social work practices which is the consideration to cultural diversity as multicultural social work. And then I interviewed Canadian and Japanese social workers to explore the value, knowledge and skills needed for the multicultural social work.
As a result, the research was able to refine the concept of "multicultural community social work". It includes programs for practice and livelihood support systems for community-based multicultural social work.
