Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Patients with psychosomatic medicine that complains of insomnia are already taking hypnotics already at the consultation. Moreover, the patient coexists not only insomnia but other physical diseases in many cases. We examined the effect of autogenic training to such patients. Two patients taking hypnotics were able to stop medication or reduce their dose by conducting AT on a daily basis. In group AT for patients with insomnia and comorbidity symptoms, the feeling of control on symptoms was significantly improved. AT was an effective method for drug weight loss taking in insomnia patients. Moreover, AT raised the patient's feeling of condition control. AT is effective as a treatment for insomnia, suggesting the need for further study, such as RCT in the future.
