Outline of Final Research Achievements

We examined our hypotheses about the mechanism in which inexpressive aggression generates depression. As we expected, anger, anger rumination, and perception of other party's hostile intent enhanced depression in social conflicting situations. Although emotion regulation is generally seen as a positive mechanism, at least under srtain conditions, it also enhanced depression. It was demonstrated that one's own cultures affect on which type of emotion regulation uses in a situation, and the affect on depression.
